2007 American Open! Iron Dogs Lesley Lovesee and Zach Ladlie qualified for the 2007 American Open championships. The event was held in Birmingham, AL from November 30 through December 2. Zach, at the 62 kilogram weightclass, lifted a 80 kilogram snatch and a 107 kilogram clean and jerk for a 187 total. Lesley, at the 53 kilogram weightclass, lifted a 55 kilogram snatch and a 63 kilogram clean and jerk for a total of 118 kilograms. Both did a great job. Congrats!
2007 Collegiate Nationals! The Iron Dogs Olympic Lifting team had 10 lifters qualify for Collegiate Nationals last Spring. The team was comprised of Lesley Lovesee, Elizabeth Swartz, Ambrose Serrano, Aaron Horschig, Jon Becker, Mike Landram, Jake Sanning, Wes Glenn, Zach Ladlie, and Keith Painter. The team placed 2nd in the Co-ed division. Congrats to the team!
Fall 2007 New Executive Officers Elected At the last meeting of the Spring 2007 semester the club Elected it's new officers for the Fall 2007 Semester. Congrats to the new Board. President: Ambrose Serrano, Vice President: Zach Ladlie, Secretary: Lesley Lovesee, Treasurer: Jon Holden, and Fundraising: Aaron Horschig.
About the Iron Dogs The Iron Dogs are a weight lifting organization at Truman State University in Kirkville, Missouri. Founded by students interested in lifting for hobby, strength-building, and competition, the club has proved continuously successful since it started in 2001. The club provides three kinds of lifting for enthusiasts: Olympic Lifting, Power Lifting, and Weight training.
